The first 250 spaces are usually awarded to Winay Wayna (third camp) and thereafter you will have a longer trek to Machupicchu on the last day and it could mean that you will not arrive at sunrise. Don’t let this disappoint you as Machupicchu is wonderful in itself!
* The campsites are subject to change according to the criteria of our guide and the progress of the group.
Acceptance of terms and conditions
By participating in your walk (#), clients agree to the terms and conditions set forth above. The clauses related to the cancellation of the trek take effect directly after the purchase of the trek.
Staying healthy during your walk.
1.GIF ADVENTURE recommends you stay at least two days before doing any of our treks to acclimatize. Cusco is at 3300 meters on the level of the drink .
2.Make sure you are fit and healthy before starting the hike. Allow at least 2 days in Cusco (or similar altitude) to acclimatize to the altitude. Although many people do the hike they do not expect it to be easy. Anyone with respiratory problems should not do this hike .
3.Walk at your own pace. Even if they are part of a group, not everyone will walk together as a group. People walk at different paces, so stick to the speed that suits you best. The group meets again in the ruins or in any interesting place so that the guide can explain it to everyone. Try not to try too hard. If your heart is beating fast in your chest, stop for a bit, rest, and wait until it calms down a bit.
4.Drink lots of fluids on the go. We will provide you with teas, mattes and coffees at meal times, but you will have to drink a lot more liquids in addition to these drinks. Bring a bottle of water of at least 1 liter capacity per person.
5.Don’t get sunburned. The high sun is particularly strong. Walking in shorts and t-shirts is fine, but wear plenty of high-factor protection and always wear a hat.
6.When the sun goes down, the temperature drops quickly and it is easy to catch a cold. Put warm clothes on .
Tickets train round back . – The return train is the Expedition train that leaves at 2.55, 4.20 or 6.20 pm. The train that is booked depends on availability and is confirmed in your briefing. There is the option to upgrade your train to the Vistadome train , which costs an additional $ 60 per person. Please let us know your preference at the time of booking. None of the trains go directly to Cusco, they only go to Ollantaytambo or Poroy, but in any case we will transfer you by private bus to your hotel.
and if you stay an extra night in Aguas Calientes we will buy train tickets for the next day at the same time.
Food in our Treks.- (You will never be hungry with us) Definitely one of the highlights of the tour is the food. It is always fresh and most of it is organic. There is always plenty to eat and plenty of options including vegetables, meat, chicken, fish, and other types of protein and carbohydrates. Everyone sits down to eat together and we do our best to accommodate all dietary requirements, including vegetarian options and food allergies. We do not provide alcoholic beverages on the trek, but if you wish, you can bring your own.
Our Team Camping.- provide tents for 3 men for only 2 people and mattresses inflatable ( term -descanso) for all (Because we want you to sleep comfortably). Our dining equipment includes a spacious dining tent, portable tables and chairs, plates and utensils. We do NOT supply sleeping bags or walking sticks, but they can all be rented at GIF ADVENTURE. We have an extra fleece to sleep in for all of our hikers for those especially cold nights. Ask us and we will provide you with one.
Please note that if you are taller than 1.95 meters / 6´4 ″, you will not be able to rent a sleeping bag in Cusco. In this case it is recommended to bring yours.
Our guides, cooks and porters.- All of them are incredible, helpful, caring, and great people to hang out with . Our guides speak good English and are patient and very informative. Our cooks provide amazing family-style food for you and our porters, and everyone is impressed with what they can prepare in the middle of the mountains. Your porters will carry everything for you which makes your walk as easy and comfortable as possible, thanks to them you will finish your walk and have a great time. Our porters are called ´Quechuas Chaskis ´ on the Inca Trail. And we never overload them, like most travel agencies that share service and offer extra kilos for the porters to carry at no additional cost.
We make sure that all our equipment is well cared for and we provide them with all the material they need so that they can do the trek as comfortably as possible.
Fitness in the Treks.- The Inca Trail is certainly not easy, but it is not necessary to be an athlete or a trekking expert to complete it. Fitness is naturally important, but the Inca Trail is the kind of hike that anyone with a positive attitude and determination can do. Obviously, the fitter you are, the more you will enjoy the trail and the more opportunities you will have to take in the scenery and appreciate the Inca ruins found along the way. If you do not exercise regularly, it is recommended that you do a little more walking or some type of aerobic activity in the months leading up to your trip.
Many people worry about whether they will be able to cope physically, but total failure is rare and usually only the result of severe altitude sickness or a person lacking even a basic level of fitness. . People of all ages (from teenagers to retirees) complete the hike and age itself is not a barrier if you are positively minded and live an active lifestyle. Before leaving for your tour, we recommend that you visit your doctor, who will be able to provide you with more information.
Storage during your trek.- During the Inca Trail trek, your main luggage will be stored in Cuzco and if you have an additional transportation service, you will receive a small duffel bag at your Inca Trail briefing (briefings are normally set for the night before starting). the walk) to pack clothes for 3-4 days. Your team of porters will carry these bags along with food and gear for the trail. Please note that you will not have access to these items until the end of each day, as the porters will always be ahead of the group, so you must bring a backpack in which you can carry your personal belongings such as your camera, water and sun . screen, etc. According to Peruvian law, the duffel bag carried by the porters must not weigh more than 6 kg (12 pounds).
