Salcantay is another of the most beautiful walks that takes us to Machupicchu. Remember that the Inca Trail is not just one, there are many roads that not only led to Machupicchu but also joined towns. If you do this walk you will be very close to one of the most important mountains of the Incas “EL SANCANTAY” and you will see beautiful landscapes surrounded by mountains
You will be picked up from your hotel at 4:30 a.m. then we go to Mollepata which is approximately 3 hours away, there you have to pay the entrance to this road, near there we have breakfast that also goes on your own After our breakfast we will go back up to our transport that will take us for another half hour to challacancha from there we will start the walk approx. 2 hours until we reach Soraypampa where we will have our first camp and the first lunch, then we will visit Humantay Lake, it is two hours up and one hour down and returning to Soraypampa we will have dinner and overnight and so on the first day
This is the heaviest day of the entire trip since we will go to the highest point 4620 meters above sea level.
For this very early in the morning we will leave from the camp after a nutritious breakfast, we will ascend approx. 4 hours there we will have a well-deserved rest and the necessary time to take the best photos then we will descend approx. 2 hours until huayracmachay where we will have lunch and then continue 3 more hours until we reach ccolpapampa where we will have dinner and overnight.
We will start this day at approximately 6 am after breakfast we will start the walk approx. 5 hours on that journey you will be able to appreciate coffee plantations, orchids, etc. Remember that we will already be in the jungle, our lunch will be in Sawayaco, then we will take our transport to the hydroelectric plant from there we continue to Aguas Calientes for 3 more hours, once there your guide will show you the accommodation. Dinner will be in a tourist restaurant.
This is the most important day since we will visit Machupicchu for this we will get up early to be able to take the bus that will leave us at the entrance of Machupicchu, the guided tour within Machupicchu will last 2 hours then you will have time to explore on your own, then you will take the bus back to Aguas Calientes and wait for your train to Ollantaytambo. In Ollantaytambo our transport will be waiting to take you to Cusco or if you wish directly to your hotel and thus, we end the tour
